Women reinvest 90% of earnings in family vs. 35% for men

* When women and girls earn income, they reinvest 90% of it in their families and community - compared to just 30%-40% for men.
* When a girl in the developing world gets seven or more years of education, she marries 4 years later and has 2.2 fewer children.

Efforts to educate and empower women and girls is gaining momentum. Some of the best information is at Girleffect.org. Their fact sheet is attached.

Another important effort in support of this is Greg Mortenson's CAI organization that builds schools for girls in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

For the record, I am not trying to belittle your support for the Girl Effect campaign; this is something I support as well.
